​Care Team

Creation Care Team will be actively improving recycling during the Strawberry Festival. Watch for recycling signage and help us keep recyclable items separated and out of the landfill. If you have questions - or ideas - about future creation care efforts, please talk with any member of the team. So far those involved are: Christie Kahler, Olivia Williard, Matt Williard, Lois Watson, Tam Spicher, Lori Motter, Helen Henninger, Jamie Doyle, and Louise Baumgardner. Consider joining us and watch future newsletters and bulletins for our next meeting time.​

In – Gathering Blanket Bunch
Report 2024-2025

Our beautiful blankets will be on display at the September 28th and October 5th church services that were made by the Blanket Bunch. 
Our blanket year runs from Oct to Oct and so for this year, since Oct 2024, the blanket bunch made 159 blankets.

These blankets will be donated to the Bethesda Mission and the Lutheran World Relief (LWR). The Lutheran World Relief Quilt & Kit Ministry is expanding to reach neighbors in need in the United States. This means that our quilts will now comfort families here in the U.S. and abroad.

Currently we have 12 active quilters.  The more quilters we have, the more blankets we’re able to give to people in need.  If anyone is interested in joining this rewarding ministry, there’s no sewing experience necessary.  If you can tie a knot, we have a job for you!  By making quilts for neighbors in need, you’re sharing love across the world.  Come join us Monday mornings, from 10 am to 12 noon.  If you can’t stay the entire two hours, that’s okay, come when you can.  It really is a wonderful fellowship. 

We will be packing the blankets on Monday October 6th.  We appreciate anyone able to help with packing.    The LWR envelopes for donations to help defray the cost of shipping will be available at the September 28th and October 5th church services.   Due to the rise in shipping costs, the estimated cost to ship one blanket is now $2.80.  So, we appreciate any amount you’re able to give toward getting these blankets to people who truly need them.  The Blanket Bunch thanks you….  And also thanks you for your continued support!
